Submitting
Anyone is welcome to submit to IDR. However, for publication of accepted manuscripts to proceed at least one author of the manuscript must be a member of Individual Differences Association.
Without permission of the editor, submitted manuscripts should be no more than 20 pages in length (including title page, abstract, references, figures, tables, etc). Contact the editor for permission to submit longer papers or for more information.
All manuscripts should be submitted using our online submission system (see below).
Before beginning online submission of your manuscript, it is important to be familiar with our Formatting Guidelines. Closely following our formatting guidelines will increase the chances of acceptance of your paper and expedite the review. Manuscripts which do not follow our guidelines will either be rejected outright or be subject to special typesetting charges.
To ensure the quality of submitted manuscripts, we also require authors have a colleague review their manuscript prior to submission.
Furthermore, individuals whose native language is not English should have their paper read and proofed by someone fluent in English before submitting. Alternatively, authors can use a professional editing service such as SPi, a service not affiliated with IDR.
The review process for IDR normally takes about 12 weeks, but may be longer depending on the volume of papers being considered at any given time. Accepted manuscripts are subject to editorial modification. Further, submission of a manuscript is a contract to publish with the journal if the paper is accepted. A blind-review process is used for all submitted manuscripts. Normally manuscripts are evaluated by at least two reviewers. Simultaneous submission to other journals is not allowed.
To submit a manuscript, please save the main body of the paper as an MS Word file; the title page of this file should not include author names, affiliations, or any other contact information. Please save the "regular" title page (including author names and affiliations) as a separate file. Use our online submission process (below) to submit the paper. The
program instructions will guide you through submission.
After we receive your manuscript, you will receive an email response indicating receipt. We will email you again upon completion of our review with our editorial decision. Contact us if you have any questions or encounter any difficulties with the submission system.
